Calamity Claire

A little tidbit about our little princess - her wild hair fits her wild personality perfectly. If she hadn't broken my camera a couple days ago I would have photographic evidence of her shenanigans.

Yesterday I locked the sleeping babes in their room so I could shower. Mind you the ONLY way (I thought) to unlock the door is to use a coin or a sharp strong fingernail. I could hear the babies on the monitor so I figured I was golden. While drying my hair I noticed they had begun to stir. Right on cue...feeding time. I walked down the hall towards their room and thought my, they sure are loud through the CLOSED DOOR which is now OPEN because somehow my 21 month old daughter has picked the lock...and is now in the crib with my two infants. Home Depot this weekend for backup locks.

Today I decided to meet my mom at Costco so we could get out of the house for awhile. Before we left, Caden and Claire were playing in my bathtub which they call their boat. I loaded the babies in the car and called for them to come get in the van. They obliged. When we got home from Costco I went into my room and heard water running...oh yes, now Claire has figured out how to turn on the faucet. Lets just say I was a single inch from a flooded house. Good thing I can only be out of the house for a short time and thank goodness for those little drains at the TOP of the tub!

It's a good thing she's cute.

6 Weeks Old!

How fast the time goes - the boys have been here for 6 weeks already. Even though it's only been 6 weeks it seems like they've been part of the family forever. They've finally figured out when night time is although they're still up about every 3-4 hours to eat. And...they're weighing in at around 10 pounds each. Dane is on the left (with eyes open) and Drew is on the right. Still no verdict on identical vs. fraternal.

They Cancelled School For This?!?

It's so interesting how perspective changes. Back when I was teaching there was no better gift than a snow day. Now my reaction to finding out that preschool was cancelled is a groan and an eyeroll - especially when there's no snow to speak of.

Caden was especially disappointed when he woke up and there wasn't enough snow for a snowman - but he watched out the window all day and by the time Daddy got home there was enough for a mini version. Thanks, Daddy, for playing in the freezing weather while Mommy watched from the window.
